I've been working on this Fractured Light series for 12 years now and it's interesting to see how it has evolved. My last few paintings, including this one entitled, "Feeling The Music", are a continuation of the need to push myself out of my comfort zone - to take risks with the painting - experiment with abstraction and flat planes of color - to feel like I'm lost and not sure what to do next. It is uncomfortable and not enjoyable at times, but I'm starting to see the benefit. I feel like my work may be getting to another level that I would not have achieved otherwise.

Every year the Providence Art Club has a Little Pictures Show & Sale during the weeks before Christmas. This year I am painting "beach people" - sweet little 8"x8" oil on panels of various beachgoers and they are such fun to create! The show runs Nov 9 - Dec 22. The Art Club will be filled with small works of various genres and mediums, as well as 3D artwork - all at reasonable prices. If you are local to Providence, RI, don't miss it!
